A debut at the Promenades (the Proms): the audience applauding a promising young singer at Queen's Hall in 1908. During the early autumn, music-lovers in London are largely dependent on the music of the Promenade Concerts. Lately there has been small chance of promenading, even during the intervals, so great was the throng - all sorts and conditions of people being drawn to Queen's Hall by the magic of the music
