Tatchell pictured with two nurses, all from the Wesleyan Men's Hospital in Hankow, who rescued wounded and blinded inmates from the hospital under fire from insurgents during the Chinese Revolution of 1911. Dr. Tatchell was in China with Dr. Robert T. Booth and wrote a book about Dr. Booth entitled Booth of Hankow
