Dressed for the Abbey
A selection of fashions worn at the wedding and a (pre-wedding evening reception) of Princess Margaret to Anthony Armstrong Jones on 6 May 1960. From left, the Hon. Iris Peake, the Princess's lady-in-waiting wearing a white chine silk dress printed with a motif of black leaves, caught lightly at the waist with a patent leather belt - by Victor Stiebel. The cap of yellow petals, trimmed with a black velvet rose is by Jenny Fischer. Middle left: the Countess of Drogheda in a magnificent coat of peacock blue wild silk with ranch mink collar worn over a chine silk dress printed with huge blue and smoke grey roses - again, by Victor Stiebel.
