The Tatler reports that the Duchess was equipping a field hospital (she would later open her hospital at the casino in Le Touquet) and superintending the preparation of Gifford House, Roehampton. Constance Edwina Lewes, CBE (formerly Grosvenor, nee Cornwallis-West 1876 a^ 21 January 1970), also known as Shelagh, was a British socialite and peeress. She was the first wife of Hugh Grosvenor, 2nd Duke of Westminster (known as Bend'or), one of the richest men in the world at the time
