Duchess of Westminster's hospital at Le Touquet, WW1

The hospital for wounded British and Allied soldiers in the converted casino at Le Touquet, France, established by the Duchess of Westminster. The hospital could care for up to 350 men at any one time and according to the Illustrated War News was, officially recognised as one of the best in France. The ward pictured had 56 beds and was under the charge of Major Gordon Watson, senior surgeon and Commandant of the Hospital
