The casino at Le Touquet, converted into a hospital by the Duchess of Westminster for British and Allied soldiers in 1914, pictured covered in snow. The hospital could accommodate up to 350 men at any one time and the Duchess herself assisted by a Mrs Whitburn, gave particular attention to the linen room
