E. H. Shepard
Ernest Howard Shepard OBE MC (1879 - 1976), English artist and book and magazine illustrator. He is known especially for illustrations in The Wind in the Willows and Winnie-the-Pooh but he also contributed sophisticated illustrations to magazines such as The Sketch and The Illustrated London News, which published this portrait in 1924
