An East End eating house for the very poor
These men who have spent the night on the streets congregate at the door of poor eating houses like this for their one meal a day which will cost half a penny. They receive a hunk of bread, a piece of greasy mutton or other meat and a mug of tea. Having eaten they sleep sitting on benches at the table
