Edith Gracie- a Titanic orphan
Miss Edith Gracie, daughter of the late Colonel and Mrs Archibald Gracie, who had recently made her debut in New York society in 1912. Her father was one of the few male survivors of the Titanic disaster. He was carried down with the sinking ship but came to the surface and was rescued. He, however, never recovered and died from the effects of his illness in December 1912, shortly after his daughter's debut
