Edward, Prince of Wales, (the future Edward VII) marrying Alexandra, daughter of Kristian IX of Denmark in 1863. Edward served a 60 year apprenticeship as Prince of Wales and was given little responsibility by his mother, Victoria. He was renowned for his playboy lifestyle and numerous affairs.
