Fashions for October, 1857. The lady on the left wears a fashionable style of outdoor clothing for mourning. The mantle she wears is called the Conheath, named after the ancient ancestral domain in Scotland belonging to the family of the Empress Eugenie. The Empress has evinced her partiality for the Conheath Mantle by having frequently worn a cloak of this form in the south of France. To Messrs. Jay of Regent Street the fashionable world is indebted for its introduction to Britain
