Federals at Manassas, US Civil War
The Civil War in America : the last stand made by the Federals at Manassas. The Second Battle of Bull Run, or the Battle of Second Manassas, as it was called by the Confederates, was fought in August 1862 and won by the Confederacy under General Robert E Lee. The Union army was driven back and only an effective rearguard action prevented complete disaster
