The first post-war delivery of the Government's steel for air-raid shelters in Tiber Street and Carlsbad Street, Islington, London. The sections were carried through the houses with much difficulty into the small backyards behind. The erecting of the shelters state that they had to be buried three feet in the ground and most of these where paved with concrete
