Frescoes by Frank Salisbury for Queen Victoria Memorial Hall, Calcutta
A selection of some of the twelve frescoes painted by Frank O. Salisbury for the Queen Victoria Memorial Hall in Calcutta (now Kolkata). The whole twelve formed a complete circle round the base of the dome inside the building. Several of the frescoes are symbolic such as those depicted - Empire and The Apotheosis while the rest represent events in the life of the so-called, Great White Queen'
