Funeral of Edith Cavell
The coffin of Nurse Edith Cavell, draped in a flag, is carried into Westminster Abbey on 15 May 1919. English nurse, Edith Cavell (1865 - 1915), was executed by the Germans on 12 October 1915 for helping allied soldiers escape from German-occupied Belgium. Her remains were transferred to the UK after the war ended, and a memorial service held in Westminster Abbey, London. She was buried at Life's Green, near Norwich Cathedral, on 19 May
