A gigantic feast: the banquet to the French provincial mayors. The centenary of the proclamation of the French Republic celebrated by a banquet given by President Loubet to the Mayors of France. Some 23, 000 guests sat down to the dejeuner, for which a temporary structure was prepared in the Tuilleries Gardens. The line of tables was so long that the organisers travelled round in motor cars or on cycles
