Gladys Calthrop at the Cinque Ports Flying Club
Gladys Edith Mabel Calthrop (nee Treeby), (1894 - 1980), artist and leading British stage designer. She is best known as the set and costume designer and for her collaborations, providing set and costumes for her friend Noel Coward's plays. Gladys was also a keen aviator and is pictured here posing by a plane at the Cinque Ports Flying Club, Lympe - Noel Coward was Vice President of the club
