Gladys Peto
I Seek - A Sketch illustrator illustrated. Gladys Peto, artist and illustrator, who worked for The Sketch magazine illustrating the gossip column Phrynette's Letters from London with a variety of lovely vignettes in a style influenced by Aubrey Beardsley and Art Nouveau. She was the only daughter of Mr William and Mrs Peto of Cannon Court, Maidenhead. She studied at the Midenhead Art School and then at the London Art School under John Hassall and Charles Orchardson
