Typhoid outbreak at Winchester and Southampton due to the laying down of edible forms of shell-fish in sewage-polluted waters. Oysters where very popular in London with five-hundred million sold annually. Photographs showing Whitstable bay where the ooysters were caught to be sold to Londoners
