Guglielmo Marconi (1874 - 1937), Italian inventor, physicist, electrical engineer and politician known for his creation of a practical radio wave-based wireless telegraph system. Photographed on board his famous yacht Elettra in which he carried out many secret experiments leading to notable advances in the practical development of wireless communications especially in regard to the use of utra-short waves
