This was the first iteration of Battersea Dogs Home before it moved in 1871 to Battersea, south London. The Temporary Home for Lost and Starving Dogs as it was first known, was established in 1860 by Ms. Mary Tealby and a committee of animal lovers, in Holloway, North London
