H.R.H the Duke of Windsor (former King Edward VIII) following his abdication in December 1936, to Mrs Wallis Warfield, photograph of the couple the day before their wedding in music-room of Chateau de Cande, near Tours in France, where the church of England marriage service took place. The Duchess wore a two-piece crepe dress of the powder-blue know as Wallis blue, with halo hat of the same colour and sapphire and diamond jewellery
