The Ibrox Stadium Disaster, 1902
The disaster that took place at Ibrox stadium during the Scotland vs. England football international, 5th April 1902. Due to overcrowding, a large section of terracing (approximately 70ft by 15ft) collapsed underneath spectators, killing 25 and injuring many more. The image shows policemen, soldiers and other football fans helping the casualties and making strechers from iron fencing
