The Insignia of the Most Noble Order of the Garter - the collar, with the George appended, garter, star, and lesser George on a blue ribbon. The Order of the Garter was constituted in 1348 by Edward III and has since 1831 consisted of the Sovereign and twenty-five Knight Companions
