Also lauded as a leader of fashion and arbiter of style, she is pictured here in the costume she wore to the Victory Ball, held on the 27 November 1918 to celebrate the end of the First World War. The cream of society attended and the 4000 tickets sold raised money for the Nation's Fund for Nurses
