Irish Land League - stopping a hunt
A fox hunt stopped by farmers and others connected with the Land League in Ireland. The ILN comments: The manners and temper of Irish country people must be vastly changed now from the times of which we have read in Charles Lever's entertaining stories, when fox-hunting, squires, and other sporting gentry, were idolised by peasantry, and to jump over a stone wall on horseback was accounted the noblest performance of the lords of the land
