James Bausch in the decathlon, 1932 Olympic Games
James Aloysius Bernard Bausch (1906 - 1974), a.k.a. Jarring Jim, American athlete who competed mainly in the Decathlon pictured throwing the discus. After being in fifth place after the first day of the competition, Bausch won the gold medal in the event defying expectations that the Finnish athlete, Akilles Jarvinen would win.~~~~
