Jeanne Paquin, (1869-1936) leading French fashion designer, pictured in 1914 at the peak of her powers. The Sphere magazine, which printed this photograph declared that she stood, "for everything that is beautiful and perfect and original in the world of dress, " and as a, "brilliant inventor of most of the new modes."
