The advert, which appears in The Sketch magazine at the end of September 1914, proclaims its Business as Usual approach in wartime, advising readers that it was retaining a full staff in all departments on full wages in spite of wholelsale requisitioning of horses and vehicles. The advert also promotes the fact it has a unprecedented amount of furniture stock due to an influx of pieces from officers and others called abroad.
