Jewels of Empire Ball - Mrs Ashley, Edwina Mountbatten
Miss Wilfrid Ashley (Muriel Ashley, later Lady Mount Temple) in her velvet gown and emerald parure by Cartier which wore to the Jewels of Empire Ball at the Park Lane Hotel on 26th November 1930. She was Chairwoman of the event and her stepdaughter, Lady Louis Mountbatten (Edwina Mountbatten), seated in the middle, was President. With them is the Hon. Mrs Baillie-Hamilton who was in the rubies group - her costume and jewels are supposed to represent the Chhatrapati Manik ruby
