The new coin from a plaster case of King Edward's VII designed by George William de Saulles. Around the rim appears the inscription, Edwardvs VII D: G: BRITT: OMN: REX F:D: IND: IMP: (Edwardus VII. Dei Gratia Britanniarum et terrarium trans marina rum qua in diction sunt Britannica, Rex, Fidei defensor, India Imperator. translated means: Edward VII by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and of the British Dominions beyond the seas, King, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India
