Hazel, Lady Lavery (1886 - 1935), formerly Hazel Martyn and second wife of the celebrated portrait artist Sir John Lavery who painted her portrait hundreds of times. A renowned beauty, she was a talented artist in her own right and popular society hostess. This portrait of Hazel was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1925
