Laying of the Mayflower II
The laying of the keel of Mayflower II. The start of the construction of a replica of the original ship in which the pilgrim fathers sailed to the new world. The ceremony took place on July 28 1955, at Upham's Shipyard, Brixham. Taking part was Commander Kenelm Winslow a descendent of the printer Edward Winslow, who sailed in the famous voyage
