Lecture on Cookery at the International Exhibition
Lecture on cookery attended by a well-heeled crowd at the London International Exhibition of 1873. The short lectures, by Mr Buckmaster, accompanied demonstrations of the best methods of cooking different kinds of food. Guests could, on payment of a small fee, taste the prepared dishes. Queen Victoria attended one of Mr Buckmaster's lectures, and tasted an omelette fine herbes before inspecting German military cooking apparatus
