Leon Theremin (1896 - 1993) giving a demonstration of his electronic musical instrument to a group of invited Scientists (including Sir Oliver Lodge) at the Savoy Hotel and at an subsequently a concert at the Albert Hall (pictured) where he played Schubert's Ave Maria and other airs. He is shown here at the Alber Hall in duet with Mr Goldberg. Theremin was a Russian and Soviet inventor, most famous for his invention of the theremin, one of the first electronic musical instruments and the first to be mass-produced
