Lina Cavalieri
Lina Cavalieri (1874 - 1944), Italian opera singer. Photographed during her engagement to Robert Winthrop Chandler, the great-grandson of William B Astor, is announced. Midway through a European tour, she accepted his marriage proposal by cable. They married on the 18th June 1910, but by the end of their honeymoon had separated, and were divorced in 1912
