The Lion of Chaeronea, carved to commemorate the Sacred Band of Thebes who fell to Philip of Macedon at the Battle of Chaeronea in 338 BC. Discovered in 1880, in pieces, the Archaeological Society of Athens arranged to have it restored back to its 20 foot height
