Lord Farquhar and Mrs George Keppel
Horace Brand Farquhar, 1st Earl Farquhar, (1844 - 1923) British financier, courtier and Conservative politician. Influential courtier who was appointed Master of the King's Household by King Edward VII and served in the same position under George V. Friendly with the Duke of Fife who married Edward VII's eldest daughter, Princess Louise of Wales. On his death, he was revealed to be an undisclosed bankrupt (despite leaving several large legacies to members of the royal family) and his irregular business dealings would have led to him being prosecuted for fraud if discovered while he was alive. The Hon. Mrs George Keppel (Alice Keppel) was Edward VII's mistress in his later years. Quite a pair
