Lord Kitchener made Military Admiral, 1909
Fascinating page from the Bystander showing a photograph of Lord Kitchener with critical editorial of his new position as Military Admiral which required him to travel hundreds of miles to inspect Infantry Companys around Malta, Gibraltar, Egypt, Cyprus and Crete, when Lord Kitchener is wanted at the War Office'. The Bystander also comments, The most brilliant soldier in the Empire's service has, to all intents and purposes, been banished...We await with interest Mr. Haldane's explanation of this arrangement
