Lord and Lady Petre
Lord and Lady Petre pictured at Tregye, Perranwell, Cornwall shortly after returning from their honeymoon. Lady Catherine (Kitty) Petre, was formerly Catherine Margaret Boscawen and married Lionel George Carroll, 16th Baron Petre in 1913. Lionel was the 16th Baron, son of the 15th Baron and Julia Mary Cavendish-Taylor. He was born 3rd November 1890 and became a Captain in the Coldstream Guards. He was wounded near Arras in the late Spring of 1915, was repatriated and died of his wounds in September leaving two children, one born posthumously. Lady Petre subsequently remarried and became Lady Rasch. She was responsible for the restoration of the Petre family seat, Ingatestone Hall, in Essex
