Lung Hill Colliery explosion 1857
Explosion at Lung Hill Colliery in Wombwell neighbourhood of Barnsley, South Yorkshire. 200 miners went down the pit that day, in which 189 men and boys aged between 10 and 59 died, caused by a firedamp explosion
