The Mayflower II mid-Atlantic
The Mayflower II sailing across the Atlantic Ocean in 1957. The ship was designed by American naval architect William Baker and was a painstakingly researched and faithful replica of the original Mayflower ship which transported the Pilgrim Fathers from Plymouth in Devon to Massachusetts in 1620. Made of English oak, Canadian timber and with ropes and spars from Scotland she was a gift from Britain to America
