The modern trend towards vivid colouring in dress

Series of illustrations showing fashionable brightly coloured dresses and garments to be worn by women at Royal Ascot during 1913. On the left a white crepe dress with emerald green belt with a red rose on one side of the waist; a blue serge with a white linen collar and a multicoloured Indian foulard; a terracotta crepon dress treated with dark-blue silk and net. In the centre panel is an evening coat in green and gold brocade and another evening creation in apricot and flame colour. In the right panel are a gown of black broche with the skirt draped over a plastron of cinnamon silk and lace with a touch of emeral green at the waist; a cloak of light-blue serge line and hooded in a deeper shade of blue with an outlining of Chinese embroidery
