Modish skipping skyward toque hats 1912
Two examples of the vertiginous taste in hats in the years leading up to the First World War. The left hat is of lace straw piped with blue -coloured ribbon, the crown of ribbon of the same shade with a picot edge trimmed with a cluster of roses. The right model is of Bordeaux tagal straw embellished with fans of ribbon and poppies of a brighter shade
