Mr. Arthur Lionel Pugh Norrington, Vice-chancellor of Oxford University, and President of Trinity College. Norrington honed the Norrington Table, an annual ranking by college of the performance of Oxford undergraduates in their final year exams.
This sketch was drawn from life by Stephen Ward, at a sitting specially granted to the Illustrated London News in 1961. Ward sketched several high profile figures for the Illustrated London News in 1961, but two years later he would become notorious through his involvement in the Profumo Affair
