Mr. Jones, English climber
Mr. Jones, the English victim of the latest fatal Alpine accident in 1899. Mr Jones was one of two English Alpine tourists, who, along with three guides, were ascending the Dent Blanche when the rope broke between Mr. Hill and the rest of the party so that Mr Jones and the three guides fell to their deaths down a precipice. Mr. Hill made his way back to Zermatt after spending forty-eight hours on the mountain. The bodies were found on the Dent Blanche glacier
