The hero-worship of the crowd in a Reading, Berkshire street following the open verdict at the inquest into the murder of My Alfred Oliver. Mr Philip Yale Drew, an American actor, who had been performing in a play in Reading at the time, became the prime suspect but evidence was sketchy.
