The Nimrod Antarctic Expedition at the furthest point South

These three men and Eric Marshall (who took the photograph), made an attempt to reach the South Pole as part of the Nimrod Antarctic Expedition of 1908-09. They got to this point, 111 statute miles from the Pole, before they had to turn back due to a shortage of supplies
