Osterley Park Georgian Ball & Fete Champetre

Scenes at the Georgian Ball and Fete Champetre, held at Osterley Park in July 1939. Among the guests were Oliver Messel and his sister, the Countess of Rosse, Lady Diana Cooper and Lady Anne Rhys. Interestingly, the middle photograph shows Mr and Mrs John Pudney and Mr and Mrs Anthony Lousada (mis-captioned as Arthur). Mrs Lousada (Jocelyn Herbert) and Mrs Pudney (Crystal Herbert) were the daughters of the writer and humorist, A.P. Herbert, and the Lousadas were the parents of Sandra Lousada, well-known photographer and a favourite Mary Evans contributor
