Perkin Warbeck and his army
Perkin Warbeck with his army - having failed to take Exeter, marches on to Taunton. Perkin Warbeck, pretender to the British throne, claimed to be Richard of Shrewsbury, Duke of York, younger of the sons of Edward IV and one of the Princes in the Tower who mysteriously went missing under the guardianship of their uncle, Richard III. Warbeck made three attempted invasions of England between 1495 and 1497, all quashed and terminating in his eventual capture and execution
